A romantic comedy of errors about two people who can't seem to get together, Trick deals with one exasperating night in the life of Gabriel (Christian Campbell), an aspiring playwright and composer who is frustrated with his inability to find the man of his dreams. One night at a gay bar, Gabriel spots Mark (John Paul Pitoc), a dancer with whom he's immediately attracted, but Gabriel lacks the courage to speak with him. Gabriel heads back to the subway to find Mark also waiting for the train, and after a brief conversation, they decide they'd like to be alonee. However, it soon turns out not to be that simple -- Gabriel's best friend is using his computer, his roommate refuses to leave, another friend hooks up with his ex-lover immediately after agreeing to let Gabe use his space, and so on. The two leads are appealingly cast, and Tori Spelling appears in a supporting role as one of Gabriel's friends who just can't help him.
