This dark and brooding thriller is based on a novel by Stephen King. Dolores Claiborne is a middle-aged woman who stands accused of killing the elderly woman she had been attending for over 22 years. She is confronted by her bitter daughter Selena, a self-absorbed magazine writer, about the death of her father. Twenty years before, the abusive man died mysteriously during an eclipse, and although no one could prove it, Dolores was suspected of killing him. The story then moves between past and future as it examines Dolores' role in the deaths.
