THE SILENT MOUNTAIN is a 2014 war drama written by Clemens Aufderklamm and produced and directed by Ernst Gossner set in the Dolomite Mountains 1915. The Silent Mountain is a thrilling love story set in the spectacular Dolomiti Mountains at the outbreak of WWI between Italy and Austria-Hungary in 1915. The movie was released in March 2014 and got mix reviews from critics.

PLOT: The film’s story opens in 1915 with a couple in love: Andreas, a young Tyrolean played by William Moseley (who appeared in all three installments of The Chronicles of Narnia), and Francesca (Eugenia Costantini from trans-Alpine television series Boris), a 17-year-old Italian girl from the neighboring Dolomites. But their blossoming love affair is suddenly interrupted when Andreas is drafted up to join the army, after Italy declares war on Austria. This Alpine border region soon becomes the setting for tragedy, as neighbors become enemies, families are divided, and lovers are separated. The film’s prestigious cast includes Italian star Claudia Cardinale(see the photo, taken on the film set last week), Corrado Invernizzi (the doctor in Vincere by Marco Bellocchio), as well as Austrian actors Fritz Karl and Emily Cox.

RELATED NEWS: William Moseley
has joined the cast of The Silent Mountain. Moseley, best known for his Peter Pevensie role in the Chronicle of Narnia movies, will play a young lover in the romantic drama. The British-born Moseley was selected earlier this year as one of the leads in the CW pilot The Selection. While not picked up, the show could air mid-season. Silent Mountain tells the story of a young couple preparing to get married as Europe descends into World War I. Ernst Gossner will direct. Heinz Stussak, producer of the Oscar nominated Revanche, will produce The Silent Mountain. Eugenia Costantini plays the other young lover. Claudia Cardinale also stars. The film is scheduled to start shooting in Italy later this month. Moseley is ripped by Paradigm, manager David Guillod and attorney Lev Ginsburg.

The crew and cast were struck by lightning while shooting in the mountains. William Moseley was hit as was the camerawoman. She was looking through the viewfinder as the lightning struck and went through the iron body through her eye to her optical nerve and burnt it. The Silent Mountain was shot in various locations in the Dolomites in South Tirol, Trentino, Tirol and Cortina d'Ampezzo. The story is inspired by the actual happenings of the Mountain War between 1915 and 1918.

WHAT’S GOOD: William Moosely looks good and act well. The film story is adventure and cool, all the cast are perfect and the cinematography will let you see the amazing scenes of Jungle’s and Incredible mountains.

WHAT’S BAD: The film we can’t say is full fun packed, as it is stuck in one same place to another same place. You won’t be able to get that much Romance, and comedy in the film and it gets slow many times.
VERDICT: The last word will be this film is obviously for selected audience who love’s action adventure projects, but those who love’s Romantic and action kind of films they won’t be satisfied with this film that much.
