A relaxing retreat into the New England mountains turns into a terrifying encounter with the unknown in this low-budget horror film inspired by one of America's most notorious hauntings. As little girls, Kayla and Jessie loved nothing more than to spend their summers at their grandfather's remote mountain college. Fifteen years later, both sisters are looking for a break from their busy lives in New York City when they decide to return to the place where they made so many good memories. But they won't be alone out there in the wilderness, because Kayla has invited her boyfriend Dean and his pal Tobe along for the trip as well. But when the group experiences a freak fishing accident that leaves them stranded in the deep woods, they quickly discover that these deceptively serene mountains harbor a dark secret. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Plot-This film is about the four 20 somethings who on their way to their family cottage, Jessie, who is one of the females, wants to hang up some signs and will catch up with them. Well, when they get to the cottage, they realize Jessie is still out in the woods. So, the phone in the house rings. The shocker that phone never worked. Well, she tells them she is being attacked. And, the group decide to haul ass and leave in the car. Well, they realize there is someone outside. So, when he disappears. Jessie appears, and she is not the same person. Then, the fun begins
Review-What is the Legend of Sorrow Creek? Before we get into this, do not and I want to repeat do not watch the trailer to this film. It gives away some of the best scenes in this film, and it kind of ruins the experience of this film. The town folk say that Sorrow Creek, is the ground the devil fell through on his way to hell. From 1750 to 1799, 9 couples have lived there and all 9 have died. They say the spirit of Isabelle Carter is still alive in the woods. Isabelle being the last person to die in the old house that was burned to the ground and now the place where that house once stood is forest. Leave it to 4 20 somethings on their way to their family cottage to have to go thru those woods to get there. This film borrows heavily from both the Evil Dead and The Strangers. The Evil Dead for the feel, the Strangers for the pacing. At 73 minutes, you expect this film to use its time wisely. It tells a great back-story into how things are the way they are. The first thirty minutes I had fun with..In the middle, it kind of started to drag a little, but picked up around the 49 minute marker, and gave a half way decent ending. This film is not a 5 star classic, but for Brain Damage this film is a promising sign. First, Nightmare Alley, and now this. Brain Damage is really putting out some great material. It has some gore, a few kills, and decent acting. There are times some of the character are trying too hard to sell a scene and you can see it. The script was the shock, it was pretty scary in some moments. It was creepy when it needed to be. This is a little surprise. I had a good time with it.
